Meet the Coaches
Alexandra Park Junior Badminton Club is committed to be as self-sufficient as possible. We have a tried and tested pathway in which the members develop their skills and work up to becoming coaches themselves. As they improve, more opportunities are provided by Bruno to train them to coach their peers.
Bruno Rodrigues
Head Coach | L2 Coach
Bruno is our head coach, he has been playing badminton since he was 8 years old. At 16 he began coaching badminton and has continued developing his skill since then. In the 2016 Rio Olympics, he worked as a badminton commentator, is a certified Pan Am umpire and is a Level 2 qualified coach in the Badminton World Federation.
Junior Coaches
We have a number of junior coaches helping out at each of our sessions. You can spot them in their “coach” t-shirts!
As club members become more experienced, we are proud to have them train to be coaches. They start initially as Junior Coaches, and once they have shown their commitment and enthusiasm we support them and heavily subsidise the cost of attending the Badminton England Foundation Award coaching course. Once they have completed the course, they are appointed as Foundation Coaches.
